Do you know the distinct configurations of heating boilers?
There are many different types of gas Central Heating boilers available to you. Despite the different names basically these heating boilers usually have copper pipework, central heating radiators and a gas heating boiler.
Across the majority of Northern Europe the climate is not warm enough to warrant air conditioning but heating boilers must be considered. Most of us need a decent heating supply far more; this is why the majority of new houses that are being built in this day and age are built with a modern Central Heating System and gas heating boilers.
Central Heating is vital, especially as winter is fast approaching. A heated home has a comfortable and enjoyable feel to it. Therefore your heating boilers need to be efficient and reliable. You should feel that your Central Heating System is safe, easy to use and long lasting.
Pumped/vented and sealed heating boilers are the two main types of Central Heating Systems on the market.
Pumped/vented heating boilers systems are the ones that many homes have and they have the most components resulting in potentially higher maintenance costs. Heating systems using the pump or vent process are equipped with a tank to allow for feeding of replacement water and expansion of heated water. The hot water tank performs two functions; firstly, supply hot water to your house, and secondly, provides heat to the metal radiators. Any water expansion that may occur due to heating is handled by the expansion tank. It is normally placed at the highest place of the house like the attic area, taking up space. It not only heats the house, but also supplies hot water.
For many years now, pumped/vented systems have been the norm for Central Heating.
A gas heating boilers system that is somewhat newer and more modern and that most people are choosing nowadays over the pumped/vented Central Heating system is the sealed system. This system doesn’t have water tanks as it’s a closed heating system, this will save you space and reduce maintenance costs as there are fewer components. There are no tanks or pipework in the attic, the whole system is sealed, its unvented, which has its benefits:.
- As there are no pipes, they cannot freeze up in the attic.
- loft space is freed up and pipe maintenance is reduced.
- The risk of leakage is reduced as there are fewer pipes and the system is less complex.
- The risk of airlocks, corroding and gunk are reduced because there won’t be any air being taken down into the system through the open holes as the system is sealed.
- The main water pressure can easily be used to flush out a Sealed system for easy maintenance.
The sealed Gas Central Heating Boilers system is a fully packaged system with all the controls and safety devices already in place. A sealed Central Heating System uses water that comes directly from the main water supply. The pressure of the main water supply benefits the hot water outlets and gives a healthy shower.
Pressure variation can be regulated by a pressure vessel holding compressed gas; the hot water is pressurized by a diaphragm which also separates the water from the compressed gas. If the pressure is very high in the system, then the water will escape from the safety valve, and if the pressure is too low, then the safety valve will open to let the water in.
Compared to any other form of heating, gas Central Heating Boilers are by far the most practical and economical. They also offer you all round control which is more than most heating systems do.
