Get a brand-new gas boiler to keep happy this winter
As the cold wintertime approaches the nights get longer and the coldness creeps in, so we must all be prepared, and the best way to do this is via a gas central heating system. By centrally heating your house, you can make it more comfortable, inviting and relaxing.
A gas central heating system is basically a gas boiler with pipes carrying the heat to radiators placed in all the rooms; these systems can be of the pumped or vented type.
Pumped systems are probably the more common ones and their main part is a feed expansion tank which acts as the centre core by heating up itself first to subsequently warm up the heaters via the pipes. The expansion tank does allow for any water expansion that may occur.
The vented system on the other hand is a sealed system where there is no core heating. It’s basically closed, so there is really no need for any water tanks and the space they require. It works well in colder countries like Norther Europe because the pipes are less likely to freeze up in this system, in addition to that there are less risks of leaking and there are no airlocks too.
So you might ask what is really the point of getting gas central heating?.
The simple answer is that it will allow you to heat your entire home or office quickly without compromising the air quality. Before the central heating system came into existence, other heaters like electric and storage heaters were used to keep the home warm or even coal fires. But the main drawbacks with these, were that they made the air somewhat dry and hard, as well as letting off a slight smell.
The gas central heating systems are free from all these drawbacks but they need regular maintenance to keep them operating reliably. Spring and summertime often sees these systems shut down and completely ignored, only to be abruptly switched on when a chilly wind blows in. Instead, you should start using the gas central heating system during the autumn season so that if any problem comes to the fore, you can call the heating engineer and get it rectified before the wintertime.
Periodic draining is very important for some types of gas central heating systems since they constantly suck dirt and air into them. The best way to do it is to keep a bucket under the valve, and slowly open it to allow all the water to come out; before closing the valve, ensure that no more water is coming out.
