The typical central heating system has copper pipework, radiators and a gas central heating boiler and it is basically of two types, vented or a pumped system.

The primary benefit of central heating is that the entire home or office is warmed up rapidly, and that too, without adversely affecting the air around you. The old type heaters that were used were gas fires and electric heaters, as well as storage heaters. However, these older heating methods make the air sticky and hard, and can also emit an unpleasant smell.
These air quality issues were eliminated by gas central heating; but such a desirable environment can be ensured only by periodic servicing of the central heating system to keep it running efficiently and safely. Many families only use their gas central heating during the cold months and leave them entirely unused during the summertime, this is a common error. It should also be noted that some central heating systems allow air or dirt into them, so periodic draining is required. The best way to do this is to place a bucket underneath the drain valve and slowly open it to release the water, but just make sure that no more air or dirt is making its way in.
